Poem: The Unending Bend

Updated: Oct 13, 2023

"The ego wants to want.. more than it wants to arrive." - Matthew Kane

The Unending Bend

Oh to feel so much for everything (about nothing). To desperately wanting to love, to connect, to be given a reason to feel alive. To sense, to know purpose, to stop pretending. To stop this urge to know, to seek. To cease these reasons after reasons for the Why, and Who and What and How.

To feel as if you belong. Even if it's just for a moment. Just a glimpse behind the veil. To see shadows in light and depth in shallow things. Without fear of phoniness and shame for being obvious.

Too many have walked the same road. Too many faltered.

Oh Daughter you know this. Many have come before you, warned you. As you give power to the vain, the master of illusion and deception. You watch wide-eyed as it cunningly weaves the illusory threads of light around you Though delicate and delightful they are but illusions. And illusions are dangerous. They drug you. Sway you in your own lullabies. Drown you in self glory.

Oh Daughter I have been there. Will you not lend an ear?

Will there be an end to this? Tell me, has the Holy water ever quenched your thirst?
